Abstract
The asymmetric hetero-Diels-Alder reaction of Danishefsky's diene and an al dehyde catalyzed by 20 mol% chiral H-8-BINOL-Ti(iv) affords the correspondi ng 2-substitutent-2,3-dihydro-4H-pyran-4-one with ees of up to 99% under mi ld reaction conditions.
