A flux density variation event in PSR B0809+74 over some 11 hours is presen
ted. This event was discovered during our routine monitoring of pulsars at
327 MHz using the 25-m radio telescope of Urumqi Astronomical Observatory.
The observed time scale of variation is rather different from both the time
scales of diffractive and refractive interstellar scintillation. This even
t may be due to a new propagation effect.
