Abstract
The wavefunctions are decomposed into components. The inherent nodal struct ure and the stability of these components are investigated. It is assumed t hat the low-lying states would be dominated by the components without inher ent nodal surfaces. Based on this assumption, the composition of the wave f unctions of the low-lying states of(b)He has been suggested and the qualita tive feature of the spectrum has been explained.
