The upconversion luminescence of oxyfluoride transparent vitroceramics codo
ped with Er3+ and Yb3+ has been studied experimentally. There are microcrys
tallites to form in the oxyfluoride glass which is treated over its transit
ion temperature, and the transparent vitroceramics are obtained. The vitroc
eramics has the better transparency and a high upconversion luminescent eff
iciency. Our results show that there is strong energy transfer between Er3 and Yb3+ in the vitroceramics, which results in the change of the upconver
sion spectra with intensity of excitation laser.
