Abstract
We are interested in a coupled PDE system arising in problems dealing with the active control of structural acoustic systems. An acoustic chamber is s urrounded by an active plate or wall, and the pressure in the chamber is co ntrolled via piezoceramic actuators. We consider a model that includes ther mal effects in the wall and dispenses with the need for structural damping of the wall. Our main result is the uniform stabilization of the system as a consequence of thermal effects.
