Abstract
Professor A.F. Tyulin, an outstanding pedologist and disciple of K.K. Gedro its and D.N. Pryanishnikov, made a significant contribution to the theory o f soil colloids, an important branch of soil science. Tyulin's career as a scientist coincided with the "golden age" of Russian pedology. His works de veloped the genetic approach to problems of agricultural soil science.
