A fast response, needle-type glucose micro-biosensor has been fabricated by
a one-step electrochemical immobilisation of glucose oxidase in a polypyrr
ole film. The sensor shows a remarkable rejection of electroactive interfer
ences, especially paracetamol. The maximum bias observed in the worst situa
tion never exceeded the value of 6%. The fabrication procedure delivered ve
ry reproducible devices and the sensitivity of a newly prepared biosensor w
as typically 650 nAmM(-1)cm(-2). The kinetic parameters, obtained from an e
xisting model, permitted to understand the sensor behaviour.
