Iv. Aleksandrova et al., Progress in the development of tomographic information-processing methods for application to ICF target characterization, FUSION TECH, 38(2), 2000, pp. 190-205
A precise and accurate knowledge of the charactistics of three-dimensional
micro-objects such as inertial confinement fusion (ICF) targets and laser-p
roduced plasmas is required to analyze the results of laser fusion experime
nts. Significant advances have been made in the development of tomographic
information-processing methods for application to ICF target characterizati
on. Topics discussed include (a) new high-resolution algorithm obtained by
symmetrizing a basic filtered back projection algorithm, ib) algorithms for
threshold target characterization, (c) new approach to micro-object scannn
ing based on quasi-uniform geometry, (d) ICF target preparation for tomogra
phic characterization.
