Phase transfer catalysis by tetraethylammonium bromide: Reaction of potassium superoxide with some acetylated compounds

The reaction of tetraethylammonium superoxide (Et4NO2) with some acetylated aromatic and heteroaromatic compounds gives the corresponding carboxylic a cids under significantly mild conditions. The investigation extends the app licability of tetraethylammonium bromide (Et4NBr) as an efficient phase tra nsfer catalyst.
