Studies on the electrochemical behaviour of non-cyanide zinc complexes rece
ived revived interest, as many of the zinc plating baths employ non-cyanide
zinc complexes. Voltammetric studies carried out on platinum revealed that
zinc-ethanolamine complex undergoes successive reduction to zinc with the
formation of monovalent zinc complex in a slow step. The dissolution of dep
osited zinc took place with the participation of triethanolamine in solutio
n.
