Abstract
The neodymium tetracarbonate complex [Co(NH3)(6)](6)-[K-2(H2O)(10)][Nd-2(CO 3)(8)](2). 20H(2)O (1) has bt:en prepared and characterized. A single-cryst al X-ray diffraction study of 1 reveals a pseudo-one-dimensional infinite c hain of nine-coordinate neodymium metal centers, each complexed by three bi dentate carbonate ligands in a pseudoequatorial fashion, while a fourth bid entate carbonate group occupies an axial coordination site on each metal an d acts as a mu(2)-eta(2),eta(1) bridge between adjacent chain units.
