Abstract
Parallel Virtual Machine (PVM) software provides a distributed computing en vironment in which users can run different software processes in different computers while allowing communication among the processes. It was original ly developed for parallel computing, but is also has the potential to apply to the emulation and simulation of distributed multiagent systems. The obj ective of this paper is to apply the PVM software for emulating and simulat ing a distributed CIM workflow system, thereby evaluating the performance o f the design factors of the CIM workflow system.
