Abstract
The paper describes an approximate solution of the problem of intensive eva poration of a monatomic substance at a plane surface and with condensation coefficient equal to unity. The result is in the form of a set of algebraic equations which may readily be solved and is in excellent agreement with r ecent numerical solutions. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd.
