T. Yamaguchi et al., Extraction of quantitative three-dimensional information from ultrasonic volumetric images of cirrhotic liver, JPN J A P 1, 39(5B), 2000, pp. 3266-3269
The cirrhotic liver has many fibrotic tissue structures known as nodule str
uctures. Understanding this characteristic in diseased tissue is important
for quantitative diagnosis. In this paper, we present a technique to extrac
t quantitative three-dimensional information from a cirrhotic liver. Consec
utive two-dimensional images acquired by fan like scanning were processed u
sing constant false alarm rate (CFAR). The 2D professed images are accumula
ted to obtain 3D information. The nodular structure is clear in the constru
cted images.
