Abstract
We have developed a new method to estimate the position of an electron aval anche in the proportional counter. In the counter chamber, two parallel wir es are located on both sides of the anode with a slope and the charge is pa rtitioned by these two wires, The position of the avalanche is determined f rom the charge ratio. The position resolution is about 2 mm full width half maximum (FWHM).
