Glacial sediments of the Khromtsovo deposit (Ivanovo oblast) are relat
ed to the main Moskowian moraine. They are represented by gravel-pebbl
e and gravel-sand material with beds of clay, sand, and boulders. The
Khromtsovo mining plant develops moraine deposits and produces sand-gr
avel mixtures. In the heavy fraction of artificial ore slimes of the t
ailings dump, platinum-group minerals (PGM) and native iron occur; the
se minerals are described. Their origin is discussed. The data obtaine
d confirm the accompanying gold potential of sand-gravel deposits conf
ined to moraine sediments. These sediments may serve as a new nontradi
tional source of noble metal-gold and platinum-group elements (PGE).
