Studies on defluoridation of water with Eichhornia plants.

The root and shoot parts of Eichhornia plant were used separately for the r emoval of fluoride from standard solutions of different concentrations. Eic chornia roots removed fluoride upto 62% from 2.5 ppm standard solution wher eas, same amount of shoots removed 74% fluoride from the same solution. Res ults are compared for different doses of both materials for defluoridation of water from fluoride solutions of different initial concentrations.
