Abstract
An amorphous Ising film is investigated by the use of an effective field th eory. The phase diagrams in (T, delta) plane, are studied for some values o f n (number of layers). We found that the transition temperature of the him decreases when the disorder parameter delta increases. The re-entrant phen omena are observed for delta > 1 and n less than or equal to 6. Magnetizati on curves of the system are studied in some regions of 6 where these phenom ena are manifested. The first-order transitions have been observed for n le ss than or equal to 4 and delta > 1. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rig hts reserved.
