The production of Y-90 by Sr-90-Y-90 generator was studied. Sr-90 was adsor
bed on a column with Aminex A-5 resin. The daughter radionuclide Y-90 was e
luted with 0.7M alpha-hydroxyisoburyrate (alpha-HIB, pH 5.4). Radionuclidic
, radiochemical and chemical purities were >98% and yield >85%. After conve
rting into chloride form (YCl3)-Y-90-solution (pH:1) was used for preparing
injectable yttrium citrate and labeling some other radiopharmaceuticals. F
urthermore, a fast ITLC-method for the determination of Sr-90 in Y-90-eluat
e was developed.
