Abstract
A provincial educational programme was launched in 1995 for primary-care nu rse practitioners. A consortium of Ontario university schools of nursing jo ined forces to provide a single, standardized educational programme at all 10 sites in both official languages. This demanding, clinically focused edu cational initiative required better access, support and efficiencies than c ould be provided by print copies and videoconferences alone. The developmen t of a password-protected Website allowed equal access for all and maximize d the human and financial resources. Optimizing various technologies has en hanced the quality and efficiencies of the nurse practitioner programme.
