Non-isothermal degradation and kinetic parameters of some Schiff base complexes

Complexes of Co-II, Ni-II and Cu-II have been synthesized with the Schiff b ases prepared by condensation of 2-aminapyridine with furfuraldehyde (FAP)/ ethyl methyl ketone (EMKAP), 2-aminophenol with furfuraldehyde (FAPh)/salic ylaldehyde (SAPh) and ethyl methyl ketone (EMKAPh). The molecular formula o f the complexes are [M(FAP)(2)]. Cl-2. 2H(2)O (1), [M(EMKAP)(2)]. Cl-2 (2), [M(FAPh)Cl(H2O)(2)]. 2H(2)O (3), [M(SAPh)(H2O)(3)]. 2H(2)O (4) and [M(EMKA Ph)(H2O)(2)]. Cl-2. 2H(2)O (5). The TG data of decomposition of the complex es have been analysed for the kinetic parameters employing Coats-Redfern an d Pitoyan-Novikova non-isothermal methods. The order of thermal stabilities have been evaluated.
