Abstract
The synthesis of both enantiomers of bgugaine by 1,2-addition of organometa llic reagents to aldehyde-SAMP-hydrazones, followed by N-N-bond cleavage an d cyclization is described. The new method provides an entry into the prepa ration of enantiomerically pure 2-substituted pyrrolidines.
