Abstract
The long-range changes of mechanical properties (microhardness) of met al foils - Cu, permalloy-79 - under ion and electron irradiation are i nvestigated. The energies of particles are 10-100 keV for ions and 40- 80 keV for electrons; doses: from 10(13) to 10(16) cm(-2). The results are discussed on basis of a model which takes into account the beam-i nduced deformation waves and their interaction with extended defects.
