Abstract
Invasion is a phenotype common to cancer cells, leukocytes, parasites, bact eria and viruses, involving cell-cell adhesion, cell-matrix adhesion, prote olysis and motility. These activities are regulated by the cross talk betwe en invaders and host. We discuss the invasion-related molecular interaction s of E-cadherin, integrins, matrix metalloproteinases and the chemokine rec eptor RANTES.
