Abstract
Glucose itself regulates endogenous glucose production independently of cha nges in glucoregulatory hormones. In addition, acute stimulation of glucone ogenesis does not increase net glucose production. This indicates autoregul ation of glucose production. Glucokinase plays a role in this process by al lowing hepatic glucose sensing.
