Abstract
We present an adaptation of the original variable-configuration resonator ( VCR) that features polarised fundamental-mode output in unidirectional oper ation. The physical properties of this interesting cavity are discussed. An output power of 9.5 W with an optical efficiency of 35% were demonstrated experimentally. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
