Abstract
From the aqueous ethanol extract (AE) of Carthamus tinctorius seeds, a new acacetin diglycoside has been isolated and identified as acacetin 7-O-beta- D-apiofuranosyl-(1'''--> 6 " instead of 6')-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside togeth er with previously isolated kaempferol 7-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside, acacetin 7-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranoside and acacetin. The structures of these metabol ites have been established on the basis of chemical, chromatographic and sp ectral methods.
