Abstract
The synthesis of the first examples of diseleno tweezer-like molecules is d escribed starting from diselenocyanobenzenic or pyridinic compounds and chl oronaphthyl or anthryl derivatives. The new diselenides are characterized b y mass spectrometry and multinuclear NMR spectroscopy. Starting from naphth yl derivatives, it was unambigously demonstrated for the first rime their c yclometalation with Pt(II) to form metalloreceptors.
