Abstract
HARRY STACK SULLIVAN put forward several key ideas related to the role of i nterpersonal interactions in individual's emotional and physical health. Th ese ideas have since become central themes in health-related research invol ving cardiovascular, endocrine, and immune systems. Current findings sugges t Sullivan's foresight may have even been an underestimate of the impact of interpersonal interactions on the health of individuals.
