Abstract
CR-39 monomer was cured isothermally at temperatures from 54.5 to 115 degre es C with UV sensitive photoinitiators to high conversions, The use of phot oinitiators allowed the cure of CR-39 isothermally at high temperatures and eliminated the danger of thermal runaway present in the conventionally use d thermal initiation with peroxides. It was found that the properties of th e UV photoinitiated CR-39 were similar to the conventionally polymerized re sin. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
