Abstract
The angle measurement method described here measures the difference in arri val time to a detector of a light beam reflected by a surface being measure d and a reference ray. This measurement is made by alternately detecting bo th rays with a photodetector at the focal plane of a lens and electronicall y obtaining their arrival time difference. With this information, and readi ng the slopes along a straight line, the profile of a reflecting surface ca n be found. (C) 2000 American Institute of Physics. [S0034-6748(00)00408-1] .
