Sp. Ionov et Nt. Kuznetsov, Energy of hydrogen bonding with the hydrogen atom in hydrides: Coordination H-2 bonds with boron hydride anions, RUSS J C CH, 26(8), 2000, pp. 527-530
The structural-thermodynamic model for the quantitative description of unco
nventional hydrogen bonding with the hydrogen atom in hydrides (H-2 bond) i
s presented. The energy of H-2 bonds is considered by using the interaction
between water molecules and BH4,- B10H102-,B12H122-, and other anions as a
n example and compared with the energy of a classical H bond. The H-2 bond
is found to be 2-2.5 rimes weaker than the classical H bond.
