Complex formation in the systems KO2-18-crown-6-DMSO, KOH-18-crown-6-DMSO,
and KX(X = Cl, Br, I)-18-crown-6-DMSO was studied by conductometry. Change
in the electrical conductivity of these systems with time was shown to fit
the Erofeev-Avrami equation, whose coefficients were determined far each sy
stem, and the time required for equilibration was estimated. The electrical
conductivities of KX and KOH solutions in the presence of 18-crown-6 at th
e equilibrium state were found to be linear in component concentrations.
