Abstract
The effect of an overloading test on the remaining service life of a metall ic structure exposed to corrosion is discussed. Conditions of destruction d uring such tests have been determined. The reduction in the service life as a result of such tests is quite considerable, bur, if an overloading test does not lead to destruction, the reduction in the service life is small.
