J. Blanco et al., Compound parabolic concentrator technology development to commercial solardetoxification applications, SOLAR ENERG, 67(4-6), 1999, pp. 317-330
An EC-DCXII BRITE-EURAM-III-financed project called 'Solar detoxification t
echnology in the treatment of persistent non-biodegradable chlorinated indu
strial water contaminants' is described. The objectives are to develop a si
mple, efficient and commercially competitive solar water treatment technolo
gy based on compound parabolic collectors (CPC) enabling design and erectio
n of turnkey installations. A European industrial consortium, SOLARDETOX, r
epresenting industry and research in Spain. Portugal, Germany and Italy has
been created through this project. Some of the most up-to-date scientific
and technological results are given, including the design of the first indu
strial European solar detoxification treatment plant, the main project deli
verable. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
