Abstract
Ultrasonically assisted lipectomy is a new and controversial technique that selectively destroys fat tissues, It transforms solid fat in the adipocytes into oil, which is then removed with thin aspirating cannu las, Male gynecomastia is an excellent indication for ultrasonically a ssisted lipectomy, and we obtain much better results than with classic liposuction (Fig. 1). Impressed by the quality of the results, one of the originators of the method, Michele Zocchi, of Torino,(1) as well as Sampaio Goes,(2) of Sao Paulo, motivated us to use tile technique i n aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast.
