The syntheses of different nitroxide radicals are reported. The thermal beh
aviour of the nitroxide radicals was examined by polarizing microscopy, dif
ferential scanning calorimetry as well as X-ray diffraction experiments. Te
mperature dependent magnetic susceptibility measurements were carried out i
n order to determine the magnetic properties of these nitroxide radicals. T
he majority of the radicals presented here show weak antiferromagnetic exch
ange interactions.
