Abstract
Two new derivatives of 4-dicyanomethylene-2,6-dimethyl-4H-pyran and the cor responding poly (amic acid) were synthesized and characterized. The poly (a mic acid) exhibited good solubility in common organic solvents. Fluorescenc e intensity, quantum yield, and emission wavelength for these chromophore d erivatives are reported. The films made from poly (amic acid) covelently bo unded with corresponding chromophore show better fluorescence effects than that of corresponding chromophore monomers.
