Abstract
The chapters referring to organic mental impairment, organic personality ch anges and dementia of the updated, sixth edition of German guidelines for e xpertises on driver aptitude is presented and commented upon. Contrary to o ther diseases there were only minor changes made in comparison to the last edition. Proposals for necessary adaptations in the seventh edition are mad e.
