V. Compere et al., Acute acalculous cholecystitis following hepatic artery embolization in a context of polytraumatism., ANN FR A R, 19(6), 2000, pp. 482-484
We have reported a case of acute acalculous cholecystitis occurring after h
epatic artery embolization in a woman sustaining multiple traumatic injurie
s. Although many classical factors such as shock, sepsis, transfusion or na
rcotic administration may be involved in the genesis of gallbladder necrosi
s, we have discussed the possible involvement of hepatic artery embolizatio
n in the ischaemic process, indeed, this mechanism has already been reporte
d in non traumatic patient following hepatic tumor chemoembolization. (C) 2
