Abstract
2'-Deoxy-8-(propyn-1-yl)adenosine has been incorporated in synthetic oligod eoxyribonucleotides and its influence on thermal stability of duplex and qu adruplex structures investigated by UV, CD and H-1 NMR. The obtained result s seem to indicate that the presence of the modified base negatively affect s the stability of double stranded DNA whereas remarkably increases the sta bility of parallel quadruplex structures.
