Abstract
The olivil type of lignan, (2S,3R,4R)-4-benzyI-4-hydroxy-3- hydroxymethyl-2 -(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)tetrahydrofuran, was stereoselectively synthesiz ed from D-xylose.
