Abstract
We demonstrated that the transcriptional expression of MT1-MMP, MMP-9, cath epsin K, and TRAP in highly enriched osteoclasts were regulated by differen t matrix proteins that bind to integrin on osteoclast, such as collagen typ e I (Col), fibronectin (FN), vitronectin (VN), osteopontin (OPN), and ivory . Results suggested that the OPN-integrin alpha(v)beta(3) binding plays a m ore important role than CoI-alpha(2)beta(1) binding in the regulation of os teoclast activity.
