Abstract
Fullerene derivatives have interesting biological activities that make them good candidates for applications in medicinal chemistry. However, the deve lopment of these applications is hampered by the fact that fullerene deriva tives are insoluble in water and polar media. We present here a general met hod for the preparation of N-functionalized fulleropyrrolidines with solubi lizing groups via 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of azomethine ylides to C-60.
