Abstract
4-Cyclohexylidene-2-(trimethylsilylmethyl)but-2-enal, allylsilane type of l inearly conjugated pentadienal, underwent a new self-cyclization reaction t o afford 2-methylspiro [4.5]-2-decen-1-one. The reaction of 4-(4-arkylcyclo hexylidene)-2-(trimethylsilylmethyl)-2-butenal proceeded stereoselectively.
