Abstract
The authors propose an efficient perceptual adaptive quantisation scheme th at uses Q-N (quantisation step - number of output bits) mapping tables and fuzzy perceptual classifiers. Using this adaptive quantisation scheme, stab le perceptual quality and good visual effects can be obtained at a constant output bit rate.
