Consensus conference on the treatment of aplastic anemia

This article presents guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of aplasti c anemia (AA) established by a consensus panel of investigators from variou s countries. The panel used the scientific evidence presented during the Co nsensus Conference forum and found in the scientific literature to prepare guidelines categorized as immunosuppressive therapy, unrelated bone marrow transplantation in patients with AA, and myelodysplasia/acute myeloid leuke mia after immunosuppressive therapy.
