Fv. Kashin et al., Results of experimental studies of radiatively active atmospheric constituents in central Eurasia, IZV ATM O P, 36(4), 2000, pp. 425-453
The results are presented of long-term (15 to 20 years) continuous measurem
ents of water vapor, ozone, and nitrogen dioxide total contents; of carbon
dioxide concentration (averaged over the height) in the atmosphere; and of
its spectral transparency in the visible spectral region. The measurements
were carried out in central Eurasia (northern Tien Shan, Lake Issyk Kul) by
the spectroscopic method with the use of the sun as a radiation source. Th
e changes of mean monthly and annual values of the atmospheric components s
tudied were considered. The correlation and spectral analyses of the measur
ement results were made. Seasonal and other variations with different perio
ds and trends were revealed: positive for water vapor, carbon dioxide, and
nitrogen dioxide contents and for spectral transparencies and negative for
ozone content. A statistical model was used to describe these variations. T
he measurement results were compared to one another and to some meteorologi
cal and geophysical parameters and phenomena.
