The conditions for the occurrence of ferromagnetism in 3d metals of cubic s
ymmetry are obtained based on the concept of strong interaction in a single
unit cell. The Hubbard model with infinitely strong repulsion is invoked f
or a quantitative description. The calculations are carried out in the zero
-loop and one-loop approximations. The reasons for the occurrence of ferrom
agnetism in nickel and alpha-iron and its absence in Pd, Pt, and gamma-iron
