Abstract
Tetrafluorohydrazine (N2F4, 2) was synthesized from nitrogen trifluoride (N F3, 1) using iron. Through optimizing reaction conditions, a good yield of 2 was obtained at a temperature of 400 degrees C. Furthermore, iron(II) flu oride, as metal fluoride, showed similar results in synthesizing 2 from 1. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
